LCCA Celebrates Year-on-Year Improvement in the National Student Survey 2026

The London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) is proud to announce its National Student Survey (NSS) 2026 results, celebrating significant year-on-year improvements across all 10 survey themes. The results reflect the continued commitment of our academic teams, student support colleagues and professional services staff to enhancing every aspect of the student experience.

This year’s results demonstrate substantial progress across the areas that matter most to students. LCCA recorded its largest year-on-year improvements in Organisation & Management, which increased by 12.2 percentage points, and Learning Resources, which rose by 11.4 percentage points. Assessment & Feedback improved by 7.6 percentage points, Teaching on My Course increased by 6.8 percentage points, and Learning Opportunities rose by 6.6 percentage points, highlighting the positive impact of ongoing investment in teaching quality, student support and the overall learning environment.

The survey also reflects the strength of LCCA’s teaching and learning experience. Learning Opportunities achieved a positivity score of 90.8%, an increase of 6.6 percentage points from 2025 and 6.6 percentage points above the sector average. Teaching on My Course received an 89.5% positivity score, improving by 6.8 percentage points year on year, while Academic Support reached 89.8%, an increase of four percentage points. These results demonstrate the dedication of our academic teams to delivering engaging, industry-focused education that equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in their chosen careers.

Assessment & Feedback also emerged as one of LCCA’s strongest-performing areas, achieving an overall positivity score of 89.9%. This represents a 7.6 percentage point improvement on the previous year and places LCCA seven percentage points above the sector average. The results reinforce our commitment to providing constructive, timely feedback that supports students throughout their academic journey.

Student Voice remains central to the LCCA experience, with this year’s survey highlighting the value students place on having their opinions heard. LCCA ranked 15th among larger higher education institutions for Student Voice, reflecting the confidence students have in contributing feedback and helping shape their learning environment. These results demonstrate our commitment to listening to students and ensuring their experiences continue to inform the development of our courses, services and wider community.

The improvements seen in Learning Resources and Organisation & Management also reflect the ongoing work taking place across LCCA to enhance facilities, strengthen communication and invest in the resources students need to thrive. Learning Resources achieved a positivity score of 81.6%, while Organisation & Management reached 82.9%, with both themes recording double-digit improvements compared with last year’s survey.

LCCA also performed strongly in comparison with the wider higher education sector. On a per-question basis, the College ranked 154th out of 454 institutions nationally, placing it comfortably within the top third of UK higher education providers. Among larger institutions with more than 500 students, LCCA ranked 25th overall, with particularly impressive performances in Student Voice, where it ranked 15th, and Learning Opportunities, where it ranked 18th.

The 2026 survey also celebrates the success of individual courses across the College. BA (Hons) Graphic Design achieved a 94.5% positivity score for Assessment & Feedback, placing it 11 percentage points above the sector average. BA (Hons) Hospitality Management (4 Year) recorded an outstanding 96.5% positivity score for Teaching on My Course, exceeding the sector average by eight percentage points. BA (Hons) Fashion Management & Marketing achieved an 86.2% positivity score for Learning Opportunities, while BA (Hons) Business Management & Entrepreneurship recorded a 91.6% positivity score for Organisation & Management, outperforming the sector average by 10 percentage points.

The National Student Survey provides an important measure of the student experience, capturing feedback on teaching quality, academic support, learning opportunities, assessment, resources and the overall learning environment. At LCCA, student feedback is instrumental in driving continuous improvement, ensuring that the College continues to evolve in ways that reflect the needs and ambitions of its students.
