OVERVIEW
Learn to think like an entrepreneur and develop the strategic and creative skills to succeed in today’s fast-changing business world with our BA (Hons) Business Management and Entrepreneurship degree. On this course, you’ll work on projects with social, economic and environmental impact, gaining practical experience while exploring contemporary business theory.
From the start, sustainability, creativity and innovation are central to your learning. You’ll learn to spot emerging trends, analyse opportunities and design solutions that are both responsible and commercially viable. By experimenting with different approaches, you’ll build the agility and resilience that modern business demands.
Collaboration is key. You’ll engage with industry experts, take part in live projects and develop the soft skills that set successful managers apart, from emotional intelligence to the ability to lead teams through change.
By graduation, you’ll be ready to launch your own start-up or step into roles such as brand manager, business analyst, consultant or marketing manager.
If you don’t yet meet the entry requirements, you can still join through our Foundation in Design and Creative Business (Level 3) before progressing onto the full BA.
FOUNDATION YEAR ENTRY
Our Foundation in Design and Creative Business is your first step towards an undergraduate degree at LCCA. Whether you’re aiming for a creative course like Fashion, Games Art or Games Design, or a business-focused course such as Business Management and Entrepreneurship, this year prepares you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to thrive at degree level.
You’ll build core academic skills in research, writing, communication and digital literacy, while tailoring your projects to your chosen pathway. On the creative strand, you’ll experiment with areas such as fashion, graphics, moving image and crafts. On the business strand, you’ll explore innovation, enterprise and problem-solving in a creative industries context.
By the end of the year, you’ll complete a Final Major Project and build a portfolio that reflects your strengths and interests, ready to support your progression onto the full undergraduate degree.

All of our UCA-accredited undergraduate degrees offer the option of direct entry into the second year (Level 5) or third year (Level 6), depending on your existing qualifications.

COURSE STRUCTURE
FOUNDATION (YEAR 0) DESIGN & CREATIVE BUSINESS
This 30-week course is designed to equip you with the academic skills and subject knowledge needed to progress on to study at undergraduate level. You’ll develop a unique portfolio of work throughout the course, helping you to progress onto a degree in any creative subject.
Stage 1
The first stage covers the key areas related to your degree programme and will focus on either creative design or business. You’ll learn the theoretical knowledge and debates surrounding these disciplines and the historical and international contexts which underpin them. You will also begin to build the foundations for studying at degree level.
Stage 2
This stage builds on the key research, analytical and reflective skills built in Stage 1. You will also have the opportunity to explore specialist areas of study and focus on your chosen path within the creative arts or business.
Stage 3
You’ll undertake a self-directed, specialist project which will synthesise and conclude your newly learned knowledge. The Final Major Project consists of three units which include advanced language and study skills needed for progression onto an LCCA design or creative business undergraduate degree.
YEAR 1 (LEVEL 4)
In your first year, you’ll explore the foundations of business and entrepreneurship, focusing on entrepreneurship as a mindset applied across all areas of management. You’ll study how the wider business environment shapes operations and examine the role of innovation, creativity and emerging trends in building successful enterprises.
Management and Organisation Behaviour
In this module, you’ll explore how people behave within organisations and why managing them effectively is key to success. You’ll look at the role of culture, ethics, values and group dynamics, and develop the soft skills, such as empathy and emotional intelligence, that drive productivity.
Business Innovation and Entrepreneurial Mindset
This module introduces the scope of entrepreneurship and innovation, examining what enables or blocks new ventures. You’ll study the personal traits of entrepreneurs, the influence of culture and economy, and explore the role of social enterprise in today’s business landscape.
Business Finance and Economy
Here you’ll learn the fundamentals of business finance and the macroeconomic environment. You’ll work with concepts such as financial statements, budgeting, investment appraisal and risk management, while analysing the impact of factors like inflation, interest rates and global markets.
Introduction to Marketing
In this module, you’ll explore the principles and practices of marketing in a global context. From a digital and entrepreneurial perspective, you’ll learn how marketing helps organisations achieve their goals, while analysing strategies and solutions for real business challenges.
YEAR 2 (LEVEL 5)
In your second year, you’ll build on the foundations from Year 1 by applying your entrepreneurial skills to real-world scenarios. Modules in digital marketing, e-business and operations will strengthen both your practical and analytical abilities, preparing you for your final year. Through collaborative projects and group work, you’ll start to think, act and operate like a contemporary entrepreneur.
Business Ethics and Sustainability
In this module, you’ll examine theories of business ethics, responsible practice and sustainability in a rapidly changing global environment. You’ll explore the origins and applications of these concepts and evaluate how businesses can balance people, profit and planet.
Digital Business and E-marketing
Here you’ll assess e-marketing platforms and digital systems used by organisations to generate sales. You’ll design your own digital campaign and apply practical frameworks to understand how businesses use e-marketing effectively.
Employee Relations Management
This module explores the role of employee relations in driving motivation, engagement and productivity. You’ll study approaches to managing people, evaluate the impact of leadership and assess how effective employee management contributes to organisational success.
Operations and Supply Chain Management
In this module, you’ll study the theories and drivers of supply chain management and their role in achieving competitive advantage. You’ll evaluate decision-making from economic, social and environmental perspectives and explore how to design sustainable and responsible operations.
YEAR 3 (LEVEL 6)
In your final year, you’ll draw together the knowledge and skills gained so far to research and evaluate business cases, making strategic and ethical recommendations to improve services and processes. The focus is on preparing you to step into your career with confidence as an innovative entrepreneur, ready to respond to dynamic markets and lead sustainable ventures.
Business Policy and Strategy
In this module, you’ll explore the theories and models that underpin strategic planning and policy-making in business. You’ll analyse the current environment and develop strategies that align with organisational goals and long-term success.
Applied Research Project
Your final research project gives you the opportunity to investigate a business area that interests you. You’ll define your aims, collect and analyse evidence, and present your findings in both written and verbal formats. Completing this project will strengthen your problem-solving and research skills, preparing you to tackle real workplace challenges.
Leadership Strategy in Innovation
Here you’ll examine how leadership and strategy drive innovation and growth in organisations. You’ll study approaches that foster creativity, manage change and build an innovation culture, while considering the impact of globalisation, sustainability and organisational structure.
