On this course, you’ll work on projects with social, economic and environmental impact, gaining practical experience while exploring contemporary business theory.

From the start, sustainability, creativity and innovation are central to your learning. You’ll learn to spot emerging trends, analyse opportunities and design solutions that are both responsible and commercially viable. By experimenting with different approaches, you’ll build the agility and resilience that modern business demands.

Collaboration is key. You’ll engage with industry experts, take part in live projects and develop the soft skills that set successful managers apart, from emotional intelligence to the ability to lead teams through change.

By graduation, you’ll be ready to launch your own start-up or step into roles such as brand manager, business analyst, consultant or marketing manager.

If you don’t yet meet the entry requirements, you can still join through our Foundation in Design and Creative Business (Level 3) before progressing onto the full BA.

On the business strand, you’ll explore innovation, enterprise and problem-solving in a creative industries context.

COURSE STRUCTURE

FOUNDATION (YEAR 0) DESIGN & CREATIVE BUSINESS
This 30-week course is designed to equip you with the academic skills and subject knowledge needed to progress on to study at undergraduate level. You’ll develop a unique portfolio of work throughout the course, helping you to progress onto a degree in any creative subject.

Stage 1
The first stage covers the key areas related to your degree programme and will focus on either creative design or business. You’ll learn the theoretical knowledge and debates surrounding these disciplines and the historical and international contexts which underpin them. You will also begin to build the foundations for studying at degree level.

Stage 2
This stage builds on the key research, analytical and reflective skills built in Stage 1. You will also have the opportunity to explore specialist areas of study and focus on your chosen path within the creative arts or business.

Stage 3
You’ll undertake a self-directed, specialist project which will synthesise and conclude your newly learned knowledge. The Final Major Project consists of three units which include advanced language and study skills needed for progression onto an LCCA design or creative business undergraduate degree.

YEAR 1 (LEVEL 4)
In your first year, you’ll explore the foundations of business and entrepreneurship, focusing on entrepreneurship as a mindset applied across all areas of management. You’ll study how the wider business environment shapes operations and examine the role of innovation, creativity and emerging trends in building successful enterprises.

Business Innovation and Entrepreneurial Mindset
This module introduces the scope of entrepreneurship and innovation, examining what enables or blocks new ventures. You’ll study the personal traits of entrepreneurs, the influence of culture and economy, and explore the role of social enterprise in today’s business landscape.

YEAR 2 (LEVEL 5)
In your second year, you’ll build on the foundations from Year 1 by applying your entrepreneurial skills to real-world scenarios. Modules in digital marketing, e-business and operations will strengthen both your practical and analytical abilities, preparing you for your final year. Through collaborative projects and group work, you’ll start to think, act and operate like a contemporary entrepreneur.

YEAR 3 (LEVEL 6)
In your final year, you’ll draw together the knowledge and skills gained so far to research and evaluate business cases, making strategic and ethical recommendations to improve services and processes.
